#8 Turquoise on Leather

$350.00

This harness cuff © has a stunning huge organic oval of #8 turquoise. The #8 turquoise mine in Eureka County north of Carlin, Nevada was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929. At present, the mine is closed to turquoise mining; it is mined today for gold. The mine produced some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever discovered. Almost all the turquoise produced is of the spider web type, with the matrix varying from golden brown to black. The colors grade from very light blue to very dark blue, some with interesting tints of green. As with most mines, Number 8 turquoise has certain characteristic colors and matrix patterns that are very easily identified. This stone measures 2.25″ by 1.25″ at the widest area. The stone is set in a silver dagger bezel wire on a brass back plate. The setting is on a silver round wire harness that is connected to a 1.5″ wide chocolate leather cuff. The connection is made with copper rivets and the cuff closes with a double row silver snap pairs. The length is 6.75 to 8.5 . This is a unisex design.
