The healing powers of Turquoise also improve the mental state overall by increasing all of the following positive mental characteristics: serenity, creativity, empathy, positive thinking, sensitivity, intuition, happiness wisdom all of which result in a calmer state that leads to greater self-realization.

One of the first type of beads that were made were bone beads. These beads are made from actual bones which are shaped and threaded to use in decorating.  Most modern bone beads are made from cow or sheep or camel bones and are a byproduct of the food industry. In fact they have always been a part of the food chain. Today most bone beads come from Indonesia.  Snake bones were also popularly used for bone beads and were often important in decorations because they had symbolic meanings. Most items at this time were related to rituals, spirits, and gods. Bone beads also played a part in these rituals and were used for signal specific things.
